Venture Capitalists start to fund firms which work on alternative energy technologies. Many of these firms will fail. If you see it from a macro perspective the tremendous action in the alternative energy sector has to be seen in a very positive way as some new key technologies will elapse from all these activities. Currently we clearly see signs of irrational exuberance in the alternative energy sector. However, such irrational exuberance can be an engine of change - even though a lot of money will be allocated to projects inefficiently until it is clear which technologies will be the standard for the future.
