The view is extreme. However, the view is focused on LBO's, which currently is in fact a difficult segment. I hardly see any value in deals made by investment bankers and where the return mainly comes from financial engineering and the consequent attempt to deleverage.

But there are also buy out firms with a lot of industrial expertise. These are the ones to look at in the future.
